Around 95% of our guests are women – of all ages, from across the Netherlands and from many different countries. Our bar is a welcoming space where local women, international visitors, and the LGBTQ+ community come together to enjoy drinks, parties, and a vibrant atmosphere.

Bar Buka focuses on creating a safe and fun space for women and the lesbian community, but our doors are open to everyone. Men, non-binary people, and allies are always welcome at our queer friendly space in Amsterdam.

Whether you come alone or with a group of friends, you will always receive a warm welcome at Bar Buka.
We serve Heineken beer and a wide selection of other high-quality drinks, along with tasty finger food. Guests are also free to bring their own food, making it easy to enjoy a casual evening with friends.

At times we broadcast sports games, especially football, and our cupboard of board games is always available if you want a fun, laid-back night. You can relax at the bar, gather around a table, or join in the weekend vibe when we move some tables aside for dancing.

Most visitors arrive after dinner, creating a lively evening atmosphere. Please note: we are not a nightclub or a restaurant, but a cozy bar located in a residential area, so we respect maximum volume limits to keep the neighborhood happy.

We accept a wide range of payment methods to make things easy for you. You can pay with Maestro, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and cash.

Absolutely! At Bar Buka you can celebrate all kinds of occasions – from birthdays, graduations, and casual drinks to bachelorette parties. We can reserve a dedicated area for your group so you can enjoy your night in a queer friendly and lively atmosphere.
Contact us if you are looking for a private party or event location in Amsterdam and we also host corporate events, business gatherings and private celebrations. On the days our bar is normally closed (Monday to Wednesday), it is possible to book the venue exclusively.

Who doesn’t love free shots on their special day? At Bar Buka Amsterdam we love to celebrate birthdays. When you come to our bar for your birthday party, we’ll treat you and your friends to a round of free house shots.
